Value Portraits

We finished up doing these value portraits yesterday. At first I didn't know how well this was going to turn out, but I think I did a lot better than I thought I was going to do. If I was to do this project over again, I wouldn't have traced over the shapes so hard. I made that mistake at the beginning and when I tried erasing, the lines were still visible. The most difficult part of this project was at the very beginning when we first started. We were supposed to find all the shapes of different shadings/highlights and trace over them on tracing paper. I learned a couple things from this project: drawing a mouth is not an easy task, and drawings of people look a lot more realistic when there is value and shading involved.
